Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Traditionally celebrated between 18-25 January (in the northern hemisphere) or at Pentecost (in the southern hemisphere), the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity enters into congregations and parishes all over the world. Pulpits are exchanged, and special ecumenical worship services are celebrated.

Logo

The ecumenical symbol was in use even before the inauguration of the WCC in 1948, and has taken several stylized variations since then. In 2001, the WCC adopted a redesigned logo in red, signalling that the WCC is looking to the future with renewed purpose and energy.

This interactive tool was developed by Médias-pro, the Media Department of Reformed Churches in French-Speaking Switzerland, ahead of the WCC 10th Assembly. Available in five languages, it encourages users to identify their priorities and position themselves better on the playing field of values and beliefs with regard to ethics and spirituality.
